Link Building Tips
Published By: Shawn Rickter
Link building is considered one of the best self promotions on the net. Inbound links to your website will produce higher rankings in Google with resultant traffic as well as traffic from the 3rd party websites which have placed your links.
Below I’ve compiled a quick list of some of the things you should consider when under taking a link building campaign:
1) Your website is a brand ambassador. Maintain good quality and update your website to invite users to link back.
2) Advertise your website through press releases, product reviews and blogs. Find relevant forum posts to your industry and participate in discussions.
3) Use Social Networking websites like Twitter and Facebook. Make sure links to your website are found in your social networking profiles.
4) Publish your expert views on websites within your industry, email the webmasters and ask for an expert review back.
Avoid the following:
1) Don’t cheat the search engines by placing a highly unlikely keyword density throughout your website. If you are placing the keyword “widgets Toronto” in every sentence, Google will consider your website as spam.
2) Don’t even consider using automated link methods such as Mass Directory Submitters, Mass Social Media Submitters or any tools that make your website receive a high number of inbound links in a short period of time.
3) When buying links, make sure that you purchase links from quality websites for the purpose of obtaining traffic – not for the purpose of link building. This will ensure you stay within Google’s webmaster guidelines as well as give you a traffic boost. When you decide to buy links, make sure to evaluate the PR, Age and Relevancy of the website linking to you.
